The song debuted at #1 in the UK, and in the US, it topped the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list, and spent a total of 71 weeks on that chart, which remained the most in history by a male artist, until 2009.
The song also won ‘Best R&B/Soul Single’ at the 1998 Soul Train Awards.
