The Queen, Mariah Carey has returned with a sultry new single, ‘GTFO’.
The song samples Porter Robinson’s ‘Goodbye To A World’ from his 2014 album, ‘Words’.
‘GTFO’ was produced by Nineteen85 and Jordan Manswell, and written by Mariah, Bibi Bourelley, Nineteen85, Jordan Manswell, and Porter Robinson (who is sampled). Mariah sings over a slow urban beat, while transitioning between breathy vocals and full voice.
Lyrically, Mariah expresses frustration in somebody who has taken her for granted. She doesn’t mix words and ultimately tells them to “get the f*** out”.
“You took my love for granted
You left me lost and disenchanted
Bulldozed my heart as if you planned it”
“I looked beyond all the signs
I guess fool’s love makes you blind”
An official press release states that ‘GTFO’ is not the lead single from her upcoming album, but a buzz single for her fans. The official lead single is titled ‘With You’, and the album is rumoured to be released by the end of 2018.
We already love ‘GTFO’ and can’t wait for even more new music from Mariah!
