13th Anniversary of Mary J. Blige’s ‘Be Without You’

On this day in 2005, Mary J. Blige released ‘Be Without You’, which has been certified double Platinum in the US.

The song spent 15 consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and spent a total of 75 weeks in total on the chart, which remains the most by any song in history.

It was also a #1 hit on the Dance Club Songs chart, where it became her fifth song to top the chart. Mary now has accumulated a total of eight #1 dance singles.

‘Be Without You’ was awarded 2 Grammy Awards in 2007 for ‘Best R&B Song’ and ‘Best Female R&B Vocal Performance’.
