Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men set to release solo EP next month
It’s been a long time coming!
Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman is releasing a solo EP titled ‘shawn’ on October 5th.
He describes it as an album of love songs, ranging from slow jams to tracks you can dance to.
The lead single ‘Feelin Lil Sum’n’ was released in July, and so far has peaked at #14 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart.
While Boyz II Men’s group members venture out into various projects, including Nate’s new 4-part reality series ‘Hit Properties with Nathan Morris’, Shawn insists that Boyz II Men will never stop performing together.
We’re not sure whether it will make the final cut, but Shawn has mentioned that he’s co-written a song for the album with Brian McKnight called ‘Heartbeat’, which is a duet.
Other collaborators on the album include Tim Kelley, Eric Griggs, Antonio Dixon, and Raphael Saddiq. Shawn has also revealed that he has written and produced three songs entirely on his own called ‘Been Too Long’, ‘All I Do’, and ‘Don’t Spare My Heart’.
An incredible musician, Shawn has written or co-written many Boyz II Men tracks over the years including ‘Doin’ Just Fine’, ‘Motownphilly’, and even some Christmas songs.
Shawn also has plans to launch a solo tour to promote the release.
We can’t wait to hear the new music. Keep an eye out for the EP, coming October 5th.
