‘Get The Party Started’ was released as the lead single from P!nk’s second album, ‘Missundaztood’.
It was a Top 5 hit around the world, and became P!nk’s most successful song of her career up until that point.
The song was written and produced by Linda Perry, who contributed to more than half of the songs on the ‘Missundaztood’ album, and who also makes a brief cameo appearance in the ‘Get The Party Started’ music video as a bartender.
‘Get The Party Started’ became P!nk’s first #1 single on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart – she has now accumulated a total of four.
In Australia, it became her third #1 single, and stayed on top for 2 weeks. P!nk now has a total of nine #1 singles in Australia, placing her in third place (tied with Delta Goodrem) of female artists with the most #1 singles in Australia.
The single won an MTV Europe Music Award, 2 MTV Video Music Awards, and a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award.
