20th Anniversary of Jessica Simpson’s debut single, ‘I Wanna Love You Forever’

On this day in 1999, Jessica Simpson released her debut single, ‘I Wanna Love You Forever’.


The song peaked at #3 on the Hot 100, which remains her highest charting single in the US. It also topped Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles Sales chart for four weeks.

In Australia, it stayed in the Top 20 for 12 weeks, peaking at #9. The single was certified Platinum in both the US and Australia.

It was also a Top 20 hit throughout Europe, and is widely considered her signature song.
