21st Anniversary of Christina Aguilera’s debut album

On this day in 1999, an 18-year-old Christina Aguilera released her self-titled debut album.

The album included three #1 hits, ‘Genie In a Bottle’, ‘What a Girl Wants’ and ”Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)’, as well as ‘Reflection’ from the ‘Mulan’ soundtrack, and her cover of All-4-One’s ‘I Turn To You’.

The album topped the charts in the US and Canada, and remains her best-selling album around the world. It has sold over 14 million copies globally, and has been certified 8x Platinum in the US alone.
