25th Anniversary of Brandy’s ‘Sittin’ Up In My Room’

Released: December 12th, 1995

‘Sittin’ Up In My Room’ by Brandy was taken from the multi-Platinum #1 soundtrack ‘Waiting To Exhale’, and was written and produced by Babyface.


The song peaked at #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100, which at the time was Brandy’s most successful single release. It was kept from the top spot by ‘One Sweet Day’ from Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men which dominated the #1 spot for sixteen weeks.

In New Zealand, the single peaked at #6, and stayed in the Top 30 for ten weeks.

The music video was directed by Hype Williams, and starred actor Donald Faison, who is best known for his role as Turk in TV show Scrubs.

The Doug Rasheed Hip Hop Remix featured LL Cool J.
