25th Anniversary of Monica’s ‘Why I Love You So Much’

On this day in 1996, Monica released ‘Why I Love You So Much’, written and produced by Darryl Simmons, as the final single from her debut album ‘Miss Thang’.

The release was a double A-side with ‘Ain’t Nobody’ featuring Treach of Naughty By Nature, from the Nutty Professor soundtrack.

It was Monica’s third consecutive Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100, and also peaked at #3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

In March 2021, the ‘Why I Love You So Much’ music video became Monica’s first to cross 100 million views on YouTube.
