23 years have passed since the release of Lauryn Hill’s only solo studio album, ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’.


It is often regarded by critics as one of the greatest albums of all time.

The singles from the album were the #1 hit, ‘Doo Wop (That Thing)’, ‘Ex-Factor’ and ‘Everything Is Everything’.


The album debuted at #1 in the US and broke a record for the most first-week sales by a female artist. It has reportedly sold 20 million copies worldwide.

In 1999, Lauryn was nominated for ten Grammy Awards in one night, which was the record for the most nominations for a female artist. She won five Grammy Awards that night, including Album of The Year, making it the first hip-hop album in history to be awarded that honour.

Lauryn also won three American Music Awards, a Billboard Music Award, a Blockbuster Award, four MTV VMAs, four NAACP Awards, five Soul Train Awards, three Lady of Soul Awards, three World Music Awards, and more.
