On this day in 1987, ‘So Emotional’ was released from Whitney Houston’s second album ‘Whitney’.
‘So Emotional’ became Whitney’s sixth consecutive #1 single in the United States, where it was certified Gold. It was her second #1 hit on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart, and also peaked within the Top 10 on both the R&B and Adult Contemporary charts.
Internationally, ‘So Emotional’ was a Top 10 hit in the UK, Canada, Ireland and Finland.
