25th Anniversary of En Vogue’s ‘Don’t Let Go (Love)’

On this day in 1996, En Vogue released ‘Don’t Let Go (Love)’. The track remains the group’s biggest worldwide hit, and has stood the test of time as an undeniable R&B classic. It appeared on both the soundtrack of ‘Set It Off’ and their third album ‘EV3’.

It peaked at #2 in the United States, held off the top spot by Toni Braxton’s ‘Unbreak My Heart’, which was #1 for eleven weeks. It became their sixth #1 on the R&B chart and was certified Platinum.

In Australia, the single spent fifteen weeks in the Top 10, peaking at #3.

‘Don’t Let Go (Love)’ was the group’s final single to be released with Dawn Robinson.

The song earned the group the Soul Train Lady of Soul Award for ‘Best R&B, Rap or Soul Single by Group, Band or Duo’.
