On this day in 1993, a sixteen-year old Tevin Campbell released his second studio album, ‘I’m Ready’, with legendary songwriting and production contributions from Babyface, Prince, Quincy Jones and more.

The album produced Tevin’s signature hit, the #1 R&B single ‘Can We Talk’, for which he won a Soul Train Award.

Other singles from the album included the title track ‘I’m Ready’, ‘Shhh’, ‘Always In My Heart’ and ‘Don’t Say Goodbye Girl’.

The album was certified 2x Platinum in the United States and peaked at #3 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
As part of Rhino Records’ celebration of Black History Month in February 2021, ‘I’m Ready’ was released digitally around the world for the first time as an ‘Expanded Edition’ with its complete track listing, as well as a Limited Edition colour vinyl.
