On this day in 1994, TLC released their second studio album, the 12x Platinum-certified album, ‘CrazySexyCool’.

The Grammy Award-winning album was the first from a girl group to be certified Diamond, and it remains the best-selling album by an American girl group with over 7.5 million copies sold in the US alone, and reportedly over 14 million sales worldwide.
The album catapulted the group into massive international success, topping the charts in New Zealand and hitting the Top 5 in Australia, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.

‘CrazySexyCool’ was nominated for six Grammy Awards and TLC took home two trophies for Best R&B Album and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for ‘Creep’. The album also earned the group MTV Video Music Awards including Video of the Year for ‘Waterfalls’, Soul Train Music Awards, an NAACP Image Award, and more.

The album spawned two #1 singles in the US with ‘Creep’ and ‘Waterfalls’, and an additional two Top 5 hits ‘Diggin’ On You’ and ‘Red Light Special’. The singles also all charted well around the world.
As of 2019, all of the singles from the album are available across digital platforms, featuring remixes and the b-side ‘My Secret Enemy’.

The visuals in the era’s music videos, from the silk pyjamas in ‘Creep’ to the liquified versions of the group members in ‘Waterfalls’, are regarded by many as iconic and remain some of the most memorable looks of the 90s.
At the beginning of this year, Funko Pop! Vinyls were released of the girls with their ‘Waterfalls’ outfits, and limited ‘Chase’ editions in their liquified state as shown below.
