On this day in 1990, Whitney Houston released ‘All The Man That I Need’ as the second single from her third studio album ‘I’m Your Baby Tonight’.

A cover of the Linda Clifford song from only eight years prior, it became Whitney’s first single to simultaneously top three Billboard charts; the Hot 100, Adult Contemporary and Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs charts.
The song also became an international Top 40 hit, notably peaking at #1 in Canada and Zimbabwe.

The song earned Grammy and Soul Train nominations, and has been certified Platinum in the US.
It has also been covered by Luther Vandross under the name ‘All The Woman That I Need’, and Sister Sledge.
