On this day in 1992, Vanessa Williams released what is now known as her signature song, ‘Save The Best For Last’. It served as the third single from the 1991 album ‘The Comfort Zone’, which has since been certified 3x Platinum in the US.

‘Save The Best For Last’ spent five weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, as well as three weeks on top of Billboard’s Adult Contemporary and R&B charts in the US. It was an international chart success, topping the charts in Australia and Canada, and peaking in the Top 10 around Europe. It holds a Platinum certification in Australia and Gold certification in the US.
Billboard ranked the song fourth in their list of Top 100 hits of 1992, and ASCAP named it ‘Song of the Year’ in 1992.

Between 1993 and 1996, the song was featured in UK television commercials for ‘Bisto’, a well-known gravy brand.
