On this day in 1996, Deborah Cox released ‘Who Do U Love’ as the second single from her self-titled debut album, following ‘Sentimental’.

‘Who Do U Love’ became the biggest worldwide hit from the album, peaking at #2 in New Zealand and going Platinum, and charting in the Top 20 in Australia, Canada and the US.
Deborah recorded dance remixes with new vocals, notably collaborating with David Morales. It became Deborah’s first #1 hit on the US Dance Club Songs chart. Deborah has gone on to collect thirteen #1 dance hits in her career.

There were two music videos shot for the song; the first one was scrapped by the label and has never been seen publicly. The final music video was choreographed by Tina Landon, who Deborah was a big fan of, thanks to her work with Janet Jackson. Many of the dancers in the music video had also danced on tour with Janet, including Tish Oliver, Shawnette Heard, Nikki Pantenburg and Kelly Konno. Deborah’s love interest was played by Flex Alexander.
