After ten long years since his last solo effort, Darren Hayes has unexpectedly returned with a sensational new single ‘Let’s Try Being In Love‘, available now. Written by Darren and released independently via his label ‘Powdered Sugar Productions’, the upbeat electro-pop track is infused with 80’s vibes, and features that signature falsetto we know and love.

After wiping his social media accounts, Darren surprised fans on January 23rd with a teaser of the track and a pre-save link, and announced the supporting music video the following day. At this stage, it remains unconfirmed whether the new single will be accompanied by a full-length album or EP release.
‘Stupid Mistake’ was the last solo single release from Darren back in 2012, although he has made appearances on other artist’s efforts including Cub Sport’s ‘I Never Cried So Much In My Whole Life’ in 2019 and Louis La Roche’s ‘Cold To Me’ in 2021. In addition to writing for other artists, such as UK pop group Steps, and featuring on numerous podcasts, Darren has also been hard at work on an original musical with actor and comedian Johnny Menke.

The music video for ‘Let’s Try Being In Love’ is set to premiere on Darren’s YouTube channel at 7am Australian Eastern Standard Time (January 27th), and he will be chatting with fans ahead of the premiere.
In other exciting news, Darren’s official website has hinted that there will also be a tour announced this year.
