On this day in 1994, ‘Kiss From A Rose’ was released by Seal in select countries including the UK, Canada and Australia. It appeared on both the soundtrack for ‘The NeverEnding Story III’ and Seal’s second studio album ‘Seal II’.
It was later re-released worldwide in 1995 as part of the ‘Batman Forever’ soundtrack after director Joel Schumacher personally called Seal to request the song’s use in the film, and it subsequently became a #1 hit.

Seal has revealed that he wasn’t proud of the song after writing it back in 1987, and felt too embarrassed to present it to anybody until the recording sessions of the ‘Seal II’ album in 1993.
The song earned Seal three Grammy Awards in 1996 for ‘Record of The Year’, ‘Song of The Year’ and ‘Best Male Pop Vocal Performance’.

There were two different music videos produced for the song, although neither of them are available on any official YouTube channels.
