On this day in 2006, Mariah Carey kicked off ‘The Adventures Of Mimi’ Tour, following the huge success of ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ album, which has sold over 10 million copies.
Mariah performed a total of 40 shows on the tour, covering Africa, North America and Asia. It became the most successful tour of her career.
Special guests included Boyz II Men at the Anaheim show, and Jay-Z and P Diddy at the Madison Square Garden show.
The tour spawned a DVD/Blu-Ray release, which was certified Platinum.
