Today marks the 22nd anniversary of Sisqó’s #1 hit, ‘Incomplete’.
The song was written by Montell Jordan and Shep Crawford, and Sisqó was initially hesitant to record it because he thought it sounded too much like his work as lead singer of Dru Hill.
In the US, ‘Incomplete’ was a #1 hit on both Billboard’s Hot 100, and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and was certified Platinum (last certified in October 2000). In the UK, it debuted and peaked at #13.
There were a number of remixes produced, notably the Stargate and Artful Dodger remixes.
The success of ‘Incomplete’, as well as ‘Thong Song’, helped Sisqó walk away with the most Billboard Music Awards at the 2000 ceremony, with six wins.
