On this day in 1985, Whitney Houston’s ‘Saving All My Love For You’ was released from her self-titled debut album. It became her first #1 single in both the US and the UK. It also topped Billboard’s Adult Contemporary and R&B charts, and became a Top 20 hit around the world.

The single earned Whitney her first Grammy Award for ‘Best Female Pop Vocal Performance’, as well as an American Music Award for ‘Favourite Soul/R&B Video’ in 1986.

The music video was remastered in HD in July 2020.
