On this day in 1995, Michael Jackson released ‘You Are Not Alone’ from his album ‘HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I’.
‘You Are Not Alone’ became Michael’s thirteenth #1 hit in the US, and the first song in history to debut at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
The song also topped Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It has been certified Platinum (last certified in 1995) and remains one of Michael’s best-selling singles.
Internationally, it was a #1 hit in numerous countries including the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and France, and it charted within the Top 10 in every major music market.
The music video featured Michael’s wife at the time, Lisa Marie Presley.
