On this day in 2001, Michael Jackson released ‘You Rock My World’, the lead single from his final studio album, ‘Invincible’.

The music video directed by Paul Hunter was 13.5 minutes long, and featured actor/comedian Chris Tucker, and actor/director Marlon Brando. It won a NAACP Image Award for ‘Outstanding Music Video’ in 2002.

The single, which Michael co-wrote and co-produced with Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, impressively peaked at #10 in the US based only on airplay, as a physical single was not released. It became Michael’s highest-charting single since ‘You Are Not Alone’ in 1995.

‘You Rock My World’ was a Top 10 hit in over twenty countries.
