On this day in 1996, Aaliyah released her second studio album, ‘One in a Million’.

The album included the singles ‘If Your Girl Only Knew’, ‘One in a Million’, ‘Got to Give It Up’, ‘4 Page Letter’, ‘Hot Like Fire’, and ‘The One I Gave My Heart To’.

After years of not being available to fans in any official format, the ‘One in a Million’ album was released digitally for the first time ever in August 2021, as well as the music videos from that era. It’s now also available on CD, cassette, and vinyls in various colours.
The album originally peaked at #18 in the US, however following the re-release in 2021, it reached a new chart peak of #10. The album was certified Double Platinum by the RIAA in June 1997 and has yet to be re-certified. It has sold over 8 million copies worldwide.
After Aaliyah’s passing in 2001, the album went to #1 on the Top Catalog Albums chart for 12 weeks.

A new limited edition ‘Olive Green with Black Spatter’ vinyl is being released in October 2022 and can be pre-ordered now.
