On this day in 2000, Toni Braxton released ‘Spanish Guitar’ as the third single from ‘The Heat’.

The song about unrequited love and desire was written by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster, the same team responsible for Toni’s iconic hit ‘Un-Break My Heart’, as well as another beautiful track from ‘The Heat’ called ‘I’m Still Breathing’.
The track had moderate success around the world, and the dance remixes helped secure another #1 hit for Toni on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart.

The music video was directed by Bille Woodruff, who has worked with Toni on over ten different videos in her career, including ‘Un-Break My Heart’, ‘He Wasn’t Man Enough’ and ‘You’re Makin’ Me High’.

Toni’s love interest in the video was played by Kamar de los Reyes, who was known at the time for his role in the soap opera ‘One Life to Live’.
Both the original music video and a dance remix video are available on Toni’s YouTube channel. There was also an alternate music video for the track, which can be found on the 2001 DVD release ‘From Toni With Love: The Video Collection’.
