On this day in 1998, Brandy released ‘Have You Ever?’ as the third single from her second studio album ‘Never Say Never’.

The track was written by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster, a duo who had previously been responsible for countless hits including Céline Dion’s ‘Because You Loved Me’ and Toni Braxton’s ‘Un-Break My Heart’.
‘Have You Ever?’ became Brandy’s second #1 hit in the US, following the wildly successful ‘The Boy Is Mine’ duet with Monica. It also topped the charts in New Zealand, reached the Top 10 in Australia, and the Top 20 in Canada and the UK.

The song and its music video was heavily featured in the 1999 film ‘Double Platinum’ with Diana Ross, as the breakout hit single from Brandy’s character Kayla.

The music video directed by Kevin Bray, who also directed Brandy’s ‘Almost Doesn’t Count’ video, was added to her official YouTube channel in 2019 for the first time, along with a number of other videos from her back catalogue.
