On this day in 2015, Janet Jackson’s eleventh studio album ‘Unbreakable’ was released. It was her first independent release, and her first studio album in over seven years.

The lead single ‘No Sleeep’, featuring J. Cole, was #1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart for twelve weeks, which is her most successful entry on that chart, topping ‘I Get Lonely’ which spent five weeks at #1 in 1998.

‘Unbreakable’ became Janet’s seventh #1 album in the US, and this made her one of only three solo acts in history to have a #1 album in each of the last four decades. It also debuted at #1 on the Independent Albums Chart.

‘Unbreakable’ also became Janet’s second #1 album in Canada.

In support of the album, Janet embarked on the ‘Unbreakable World Tour’, which visited North America and Asia.
